Black & Blue Braised Cabbage
6 cups chopped red cabbage
2 pkg Black and Blue sausage, sliced or diced 1 apple, peeled and sliced
1⁄2 red onion, sliced
1⁄4 c apple cider vinegar
3 T granulated sugar
1/3 cup water or as needed
1/8 t ground cloves
1⁄4 t dill seed
Salt and pepper to taste
Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan or pot. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to a simmer and cover. Cook, covered for about 90 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally. Season to taste with salt and pepper and serve warm.
